WHO ARE WE?
Texas Mohini was founded in 2006 as the first official female collegiate Bollywood fusion dance team at The University of Texas. We perform multiple dance styles including Bollywood, Classical, Hip-hop, Contemporary, and Bhangra. Our team competes in Texas and all across the nation with hundreds of other collegiate teams.
Mohini competes within the Desi Dance Network (DDN), a Bollywood Dance Championship Circuit that allows collegiate dance teams to showcase their talent and spread South Asian Culture through competitions and showcases.
MOHINI MISSION
As the first and only all-female Bollywood dance team on UT’s campus, we have the unique opportunity to empower women not only on our team, but all around our community through our stories, movements, and expressions.

From women in the army and marital abuse to the first Indian woman to go to space, we've put on shows with diverse, impactful themes. We strive to show our range not only as dancers, but as global citizens. Our mission is a showcase of our femininity and its strength.
In America, many South Asian girls are often muddled by insecurity. Texas Mohini is a way for Indian-American women to feel proud of their heritage and celebrate their identities. We aim to inspire and empower our community by embracing our heritage and pursuing our passions.
